The Story of PurposeWorks
- We began in 2008/2009 as Job Seekers Network during the recession, founded by Craig & Debbie Foster, and a dedicated team of volunteers.
- Over the past 15 years, we’ve helped more than 12,000 people in Austin with an incredible 95%+ satisfaction rate.
- In 2019, PurposeWorks helped Austin Ridge Bible Church start their job search training and networking group that meets on Thursdays. PurposeWorks seeks to plant a third location in East Austin or East Round Rock.
- In 2024, we’ve rebranded to PurposeWorks to reflect expanding services beyond job seekers to anyone seeking purpose in their life and work.
The Problems We Address
- 75% of people lack a clear sense of purpose.
- Through our Living the Called Life training (starting February 4, 2025), we help people find their purpose, mission and work-life balance.
- 72% of workers dislike their jobs or colleagues.
- We offer job search support via Job Seekers Network offered either on Zoom or in person most Mondays, and our career fit / career direction workshop, Design & Focus, offered online / on demand.
- 70% of Christians feel their work isn’t connected to their faith.
- They need our Work as Worship workshop offered online / on demand.
These issues are known to lead to issues like severe depression, stress, chronic illness and even suicide.
